Introduction:
The Cytopathology Laboratory provides routine screening and diagnostic cytopathology services, including gynecologic, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, body fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, urology, and fine needle aspiration cytology.

Body cavity fluids (pleural, peritoneal, pericardial)
Breast nipple secretion
Cerebrospinal fluid analysis
Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) cytology of all anatomic sites
Gastrointestinal brushing (esophagus, stomach, small intestine, bile duct,
ampule of Vater, large intestine, rectum)
Gyn cervical screening (thin-layer, thin-layer + HPV, conventional Pap smear)
Gyn maturation index
Respiratory (sputum, bronchial wash, bronchoalveolar lavage, bronchial brushing)
Tzanck smear for viral inclusions
Urine (voided, catheterized, cystoscopy, bladder washing, ileal conduit)
Vaginal thin layer, vaginal smear.
