The anti-68 kD (hsp-70) antibody western blot assay should be used as an aid to diagnosis. Positive results may be found in other autoimmune conditions or certain infectious diseases. Hence results should be evaluated and interpreted by a medical authority in light of the patient's clinical history and other laboratory findings. Some sera may react to the MW marker occasionally, the significance of which is not known. |
