Preferred specimen is serum from plain red-top (nonserum separator) tube. Serum from serum separator tube (SST) is also acceptable.
What to submit:
2 mL aliquot serum; minimum 1 mL.

Specimen Processing Instructions:
Allow to clot. Centrifuge 10 minutes at 3000 rpm. 2 mL aliquot serum.
Transport temperature:
Refrigerated (preferred). Room temperature or frozen specimen also acceptable.
Specimen stability:
Room Temperature: 7 days. Refrigerated: 14 days. Frozen: 21 days.
Rejection criteria:
Stability limits exceeded.
 
Reference range:
HSP-70 Antibody Negative.
Alert limits:
Not applicable.
Additional information:
The anti-68 kD (hsp-70) antibody western blot assay should be used as an aid to diagnosis. Positive results may be found in other autoimmune conditions or certain infectious diseases. Hence results should be evaluated and interpreted by a medical authority in light of the patient's clinical history and other laboratory findings. Some sera may react to the MW marker occasionally, the significance of which is not known.
