Specimen collection notes:	Specimens must be collected on a time schedule (FBS, 1-hour, 2-hour, and 3-hour).
What to submit:	1 mL aliquot of plasma for each time interval; minimum 0.2 mL
Patient preparation:	100 gm challenge dose of glucose, 10-16 hour fast prior to beginning test.

Specimen Processing Instructions:	Centrifuge 10 minutes at 3000 rpm. 1 mL aliquot of plasma for each time interval.
Transport temperature:	Refrigerated (preferred).
Specimen stability:	Room temperature: 8 hours. Refrigerated: 3 days.
Rejection criteria:	Stability limits exceeded.
