4 mL whole blood (EDTA or ACD); minimum 1 mL.

Refrigerated (preferred) or room temperature.
Specimen stability:
Room Temperature: 5 days. Refrigerated: 20 days.
Rejection criteria:
Frozen specimens unacceptable. Green-top (heparin) tube is not acceptable.

0.3-1.4 IU/g Hb
