Preferred specimen is serum from plain red-top (nonserum separator) tube. Serum from serum separator tube (SST) is also acceptable.
What to submit:
1 mL aliquot of serum; minimum 0.2 mL.

None.
 
Specimen Processing Instructions:
Allow to clot. Centrifuge 10 minutes at 3000 rpm. 1 mL aliquot of serum.
Transport temperature:
Refrigerated (preferred). Room temperature or frozen specimen also acceptable.
Specimen stability:
Room Temperature: 14 days. Refrigerated: 14 days. Frozen: 1 year.
Rejection criteria:
Samples that are contaminated, hemolyzed, lipemic, icteric, or contain radioactive compounds from in vivo testing will not be accepted.

AChR Binding Ab
< 0.30 nmol/L: Negative 0.31-0.49 nmol/L: Equivocal
> or = 0.50 nmol/L: Positive
Detection limit 0.10 nmol/L
